About the event
We’re delighted to host Gillian Best at Clerkenwell’s Coffee & Books to celebrate her powerful new book Chronic: Understanding Pain (Out March 12th). In conversation with Breaking Waves author Emma Simpson, Gillian will discuss her deeply personal and investigative journey into one of the most misunderstood public health issues of our time.
Living with multiple chronic conditions herself, Gillian set out to uncover why pain is still so poorly understood and why new treatments take so long to reach patients. Drawing on interviews with leading researchers and her own patient-led research, Chronic shines a light on the science, the silences, and the urgent need for change.
